Wildfire Danger

The wildfire danger is LOW for the majority of the Lac La Biche forest area.

Fire Permits

Wildfire season started March 1.  This means you need a permit for any burning other than a campfire.  Permits are FREE and are available from your local Alberta Wildfire office.  Call 780-623-5388 for a permit in the Lac La Biche forest area.

Dry Grass Hazard

A typical spring wildfire hazard is from the build-up of dry grass from last fall.  Ditches, meadows, areas around buildings and around communities can be a problem from now until the grass turns green.  Be mindful of this hazard.

310-FIRE

If you see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE and be prepared to give us the location of the smoke.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
