The wildfire hazard has climbed back to HIGH for the Lac La Biche forest area.  Dry grass, leaves and twigs will burn easily under current conditions.

Warmer temperatures and winds have offset the precipitation received on the weekend, and our hazard has climbed back to HIGH.  The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 19, humidity of 30%, no precipitation, moderate chance of lighting and winds at SE10.  Temperatures should continue to rise towards the weekend, with no precipitation, decreasing humidity and stronger winds.  This means the hazard will continue to rise throughout the week.

Be careful with any burning.  Although the winds are light, they are shifting.  Follow the conditions on the back of your burning permit.  Winds are expected to increase throughout the week.

Take care if you're riding quads or OHVs in dry grassy areas.  Remember to stop frequently and clear debris that builds up around hot spots.  Stomp the debris, or pour water on it, to make sure it's not left smouldering.

We didn't have any new wildfires so far today.  We have had 32 wildfires this season.  All fires have been extinguished.

We have 19 crews on hand across the area to action any new wildfires, as well as the airtankers and 5 helicopters.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
