After 12 days at LOW the wildfire hazard has climbed back to MODERATE and will likely be higher over the next days, if the forecast holds true.

The forecast is for a high of 26 with humidity of 35%, and light winds at NW15.  INcreasing temperatures and decreasing humidity are expected to drive the wildfire hazard up over the next couple of days as the ridge moves across the area.

We have 13 crews, two helicopters and the airtankers on hand to action any new wildfires.  WE haven't had any new wildfires in the area for a couple weeks.  So far this season we've had 51 wildfires.

As the hazard increases, remember never to leave a fire unattended.  This includes leaving a campfire before you have extinguished it.  You'd be surprised at the number of people that abandon their campfires, assuming that they will go out on their own.  Usually the fire comes back to life when the winds are right, instead of burning out.  Don't take a chance.  Take the extra few minutes to Soak it, Stir the ashes, and Soak it again.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
