Wildfire Hazard LOW for the weekend - Lac La Biche Forest Area

The wildfire hazard has dropped to LOW for the weekend.

Cooler temperatures and precipitation have decreased the wildfire hazard to LOW.  Although rain has not yet reached across the entire forest area, the southern edges of the area are seeing precipitation.  Lower temperatures and light winds, with potential for further precipitation should keep the hazard lower for the next couple of days.  There is a moderate chance of lightning.

Remember that you need a permit for any burning.  Conditions on the back of the permit outline safe burning requirements.  Never burn when winds are stronger than 15 km/hr.  Be careful this weekend if you are in parts of the Forest Area that have not received precipitation.

We didn't have any new wildfires today.  We are patrolling areas where lightning has crossed.

We have 12 crews, 3 helicopters, and the airtankers on hand to action any new wildfires.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.

Your next update will be on Monday unless conditions change in the meantime.
