The wildfire hazard is LOW for the weekend.

The Fire Ban and the Quad Restriction have been lifted for the Lac La Biche Forest area everywhere except north of Janvier.

The forecast for the weekend is for some general precipitation on Saturday and again on Sunday for the northeast part of the area.  We will be on the lookout for holdover fires from the lighting we received today.

Do your part to prevent wildfire this weekend by keeping your campfires small and under control.  Despite the rain, some areas are still fairly dry.

We had no new fires today.  Our crews continue to work to mop up LWF 076, west of Janvier. Crews doing a grid search to look for any remaining hotspots came across an injured loon today. Our fire fighters turned the loon over to Fish & Wildfire officers after they restrained him, keeping him from hurting them as well as himself.  Thanks Jason and crew - you did a good job!
