Ho Ho Ho - we got snow!  The wildfire hazard is LOW.  The forecast was correct, and the Lac La Biche Wildfire Management Area received substantial widespread precipitation (in the form of snow in many places) overnight and throughout the day. This recent precipitation means the Fire Advisory, which has been in place for the area for several weeks, is now lifted.

We are issuing permits for burning.  Please call your local ESRD office and a patrolman will visit your burn site and provide a permit.  Conditions for a safe burn are on the back of the permit.  As always in the spring, heavy fuel fire permit requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

We have 13 crews and one helicopter on hand.  We have had 92 wildfires so far this season.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
