The rain overnight  combined with the rain in the forecast for Sunday and Monday has dropped the wildfire hazard to low.  Cooler temperatures, periods of rain and strong and gusty winds are expected across the area beginning tomorrow.  We expect the wildfire hazard to remain low for several days.

We have 12 crews, two helicopters and the air tankers on hand to fight any new wildfires.  One of the two wildfires that we had yesterday has been extinguished and the other is under control at 20 hectares.  Ground crews are working on this fire.

Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the air tanker demonstration following the Pow Wow Days parade.  It was a great day for all involved.  Enjoy the rest of the long weekend, and stay dry!
