The wildfire hazard is HIGH across the Lac La Biche area.  The Fire Advisory remains in place.  Permits are not being issued for heavy burning.  Avoid any unnecessary burning this week due to dry conditions.

The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 17 with 30% humidity and winds SW15.  There is no precipitation in the forecast for the next several days.  Fine fuels on the ground, like leaves and twigs, and standing grass are very dry.

Today we had five wildfires, for a total of 54 wiildfires in the area this fire season.  A fire in the Calling Lake area is extinguished and three fires in the Janvier area are either extinguished or under control.  A fire in the Shaw Lake area is Being Held at 7 hectares.  Crews are currently actioning this fire.

We have 9 crews, 6 helicopters and several water trucks deployed across the area.

As you head out into the forest on Monday morning, please be mindful of the dry conditions.  Avoid unnecessary burning.  Watch your quads and OHVs for smouldering debris.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
