The wildfire hazard has edged up to Moderate.

Sustained warm temperatures and light winds continue to dry out the forest.  The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 28 with humidity of 35% and light winds.  This trend should continue into Thursday.  The weather is more unsettled for Friday and into the weekend.

We've had 218 wildfires so far this season.  We haven't had any new fires for several days now.  Crews continue to monitor three wildfires from earlier in the season.  Our recent fires have been farm related - so remember to check machinery for hot bearnings and sparks that can set a field ablaze in seconds - and think twice before you weld anything that isn't on a gravel surface!

Remember that you need a permit for any burning, other than a campfire.  Permits are free and available from your local Agriculture and Forestry office.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
