Overnight precipitation across the area, cooler temperatures and light winds have dropped the wildfire hazard to LOW for Monday.  Over the course of the week, we expect the hazard to climb back up.  By Thursday we expect higher temperatures and lower humidity, increasing the chances for wildfires towards the end of the week.

We have not had any new fires so far today.  We've had a total of 32 wildfires this season. Fires from yesterday have been extinguished.

With light winds in the forecast for the next couple of days, its a good time to get any permitted burning completed.  Remember to have adequate tools and water on hand to manage your burns. Pay attention to the conditions on the back of your permits.

Thanks for doing you part to prevent wildfire.  If you're in the Conklin area, visit us on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the community event, and if you're in the Janvier area, visit us in the community from 10 am - 4 pm.

Your next update will be issued on Thursday, unless conditions change in the meantime.
