The wildfire hazard has dropped to LOW.

Overnight precipitation in conjunction with the cooler, damper forecast for the weekend has dropped the hazard to LOW.  Although strong and gusty winds are anticipated, and there is the potential for lightning, the cooler and more humid weather had decreased the fire danger rating.

We had two new wildfires today.  Both fires were in the Janvier area and are under control.

We have 17 crews, two helicopters and the air tankers on hand to fight any new wildfires.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfires.
