Rain in the forecast for tomorrow has dropped our wildfire hazard back to LOW.

Warm temperatures, low humidity and lighting worked together today to give us five new wildfires.  All fires were caught early and crews worked quickly to get them contained.

Three new fires from today have been extinguished.  One fire from yesterday was extinguished, and one from from earlier in the season was also extinguished.  Two wildfires from today are being held at 1 hectare each.  The airtankers, crews and helicopters are working on both of these fires.  The fires are in the north part of the area.

The photo below is of the wildfire just north of Christina Lake at about 7pm.

We have 12 crews, 3 helicopters and the airtankers on hand to fight any new wildfires tomorrow.

Your next update will be on Monday, June 27 unless conditions change.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
