The wildfire hazard continues to be LOW for the Lac La Biche forest area.

Seasonal temperatures, higher humidity and scattered precipitation have been helping to keep the wildfire hazard at LOW for the past week.  Similar weather patterns suggest the hazard will remain in the low to moderate range for the coming days.

We haven't had any new wildfires this week.  We have crews and a helicopter ready to action any new fires in the area.  We have exported many resources to help in other areas of the province, in BC and in Montana.

Although the hazard is low in our area, be mindful of wildfire this weekend.  Make sure your campfires are completely extinguished before you leave them.  Watch hotspots on quads.

Many areas of the province have a high or extreme wildfire hazard.  Check albertafirebans.ca for up to date information on where you can and cannot have a campfire this weekend.  High Level, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Rocky Mountain House and Edson have fire advisories in place.  The Calgary forest area has a fire ban and OHV restriction in place.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.

Your next update will be Thursday, August 17 unless conditions change in the meantime.
