The wildfire hazard for the area is MODERATE.

Temperatures are climbing to the high twenties and humidity is moderate, setting the stage for thundershowers with high lightning potential for the next several days.

We had nine lightning wildfires this weekend.  All fires were spotted early by our lookout observers or by our crews on patrol.  They were kept small and quickly extinguished.

We had one new wildfire today that was about .3 hectares.  This fire was extinguished by our hard working crews, leaving us with no active wildfires in the area at this moment! (Hope that doesn't jinx anything!)

The photo belows shows the storm buildup behind the air tanker at the Lac La Biche tanker base.

We have 13 crews, six helicopters and the air tankers on hand to fight any new wildfires.

If you see smoke or fire in the forest, call 310-FIRE.  Your help in spotting wildfires early is appreciated.
