The weather conditions have pushed the wildfire hazard back to HIGH.  Be careful with quads and ATVs today in the forest.  Stop frequently and clear debris from hotspots.

Today's forecast is for a high of 26, humidity of 20%, moderate lighting potential and winds SE15/SW15.  When humidity is lower than the temperature, the wildfire danger increases. Potential for lightning also increases wildfire danger.  The saving grace is that the winds are light for today.

We haven't had any new wildfires this week.  We have 13 crews, three helicopters and the air tankers ready to fight any new wildfires today. We still have crews supporting the Fort McMurray wildfire.

Remember that you need a permit for any burning other than a campfire.  Permits are free and available through your local Agriculture & Forestry Office.  A patrolman will visit your burn site and issue a permit or offer suggestions to make your burn site safe and effective.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
