The wildfire danger remains VERY HIGH for the Lac La Biche forest area.

The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 19, low humidity at 20%, and winds W20.  There is little chance for precipitation tomorrow, with conditions remaining very dry.  This trend is expected to continue into the weekend, with warmer temperatures in the mid-20s, low humidity and strong and gusty winds on Saturday.  Fires that start will spread quickly.

The Fire Advisory remains in place.  No burning when winds exceed 15 km/hr.  You may still have small, safe campfires.  Make sure your campfires are out before you leave them.  Be mindful if operating quads in grassy areas.  The dry grass, in it's brown and dead state, is extremely flammable and prone to easy ignition.  Gusty winds will quickly spread any wildfires, making them dangerous to fight and hard to contain.

We had three new wildfires today.  All are under control.  So far this season we've had 68 wildfires. We just surpassed the total number of wildfires we had in last year's entire season!

We have 14 crews, the airtankers, 10 helicopters, 7 water trucks, and 2 dozer groups on hand to fight wildfires tomorrow.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
