The wildfire danger is VERY HIGH for the Lac La Biche forest area.

The forecast is for increasingly warmer temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday, lower humidity, little chance of rain, and light winds.  Under these conditions, we expect the wildfire danger to increase as the week progresses. Tomorrow's forecast is for a high of 30 degrees, humidity of 25%, with light winds at W10 km/hr. Tomorrow's lighting forecast is low.  Tomorrow and Thursday should be relatively stable days, with potential for more volatile weather patterns on Friday.

We haven't had any new wildfires this week.  So far this season, we've had a total of 129 wildfires in the Lac La Biche forest area.

There are currently three active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Forest Area. All wildfires are under control and crews are patrolling the fires for signs of any remaining hot spots.

In addition to crews working on the three remaining wildfires, we have 13 crews, 9 helicopters and the airtankers ready to fight any new wildfires tomorrow.

Even though the grass is green, remember to be mindful when operating quads in grassy areas.  And take some time to smell the wild roses!
