The wildfire danger is HIGH for the Lac La Biche forest area. There is a chance of lighting this afternoon and evening.

The forecast is for increasingly warmer temperatures this week, little chance of rain, moderate chance of lighting and light winds.  Under these conditions, we expect the wildfire danger to increase as the week progresses. Tomorrow's forecast is for a high of 29 degrees with light winds at SW10 km/hr. Tomorrow's lighting forecast is low.

We haven't had any new wildfires this week.  So far this season, we've had a total of 129 wildfires in the Lac La Biche forest area.

There are currently three active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Forest Area. All wildfires are under control and crews are patrolling the fires for signs of any remaining hot spots.

In addition to crews working on the four remaining wildfires, we have 13 crews, 6 helicopters and the airtankers ready to fight any new wildfires tomorrow.

Even though the grass is green, remember to be mindful when operating quads in grassy areas.

The photo below shows a little sweetie pretending to be Bertie Beaver at a fire department pancake breakfast on the weekend.  Thanks for having us participate!
