The wildfire danger is MODERATE for the Lac La Biche forest area for June 24.

Tomorrow's forecast is for a high of 28 degrees, humidity of 30%, with light winds at SW 15 km/hr and a chance of thundershowers. Tomorrow's lightning forecast is low.  Monday brings the potential for strong winds and more lightning as a cold front crosses the province.

We had 10 new wildfires today due to lightning crossing the area. If you're keeping track, that's 20 new wildfires yesterday plus 10 today.  We also extinguished 10 wildfires today!  There are 17 active wildfires in the area in total.  Three wildfires from earlier in the month are on patrol status.  There are an additional 10 wildfires under control and four wildfires are being held.  Our crews worked very hard today, and there are no out of control fires in the area.

So far this season we've had 168 wildfires.

In addition to crews working on the existing wildfires, tomorrow we have an additional 8 crews, 9 helicopters, the airtankers, and three dozer groups ready to fight any new wildfires tomorrow.

If you are out and about tomorrow, and see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
