The wildfire hazard is VERY HIGH for the Lac La Biche forest area.  We expect the hazard to hover between VERY HIGH and EXTREME this week, with the increasing temperatures and lack of precipitation.

The FIRE BAN and the QUAD RESTRICTION remain in effect for our area.

We had one new fire in the area yesterday.  Our crews kept it small and actioned it quickly. I take responsibility for this fire, since I may have jinxed our record by mentioning that we had gone several days in a row without a new wildfire!

We have 17 crews, 15 helicopters, airtankers, and heavy equipment ready to attack any new wildfires.  So far this season we've had 75 wildfires.

Reminder to industry: Please contact us before you do any flaring.  Flares show up as smoke in the forest and can be detected as wildfires.  If we know where and when you want to flare it can prevent us from dispatching critical resources.

Thanks for your help in preventing wildfires.  This is going to be another intense week, and we appreciate your patience with the FIREBAN and QUAD RESTRICTION.
