The wildfire hazard for Monday is VERY HIGH.  Grass and leaves, twigs, and small branches on the forest floor will be extremely volatile tomorrow.  Please avoid using quads in the forest if possible.  If you have to use a quad or off highway vehicle, please keep to roads.  The weather conditions tomorrow mean that sparks or smouldering grass or muskeg that falls from a quad could likely start a wildfire.

The forecast for Monday is for a high of 27 degrees, humidity of 20% and light winds at E10 km/hr.  One of the warning signs for wildfire is when the temperature is higher than the humidity level. This is the case tomorrow - the temperature is higher than the humidity, plus we have had moderate, drying winds for several days.

The forest area is very dry.  Exercise extreme caution in the forest this week.

Today we had 6 new wildfires.  We have had 63 wildfires in the area so far this season.  We have 13 crews, 10 helicopters, the airtankers, three dozer units, several water trucks and other heavy equipment ready to fight wildfires in the area.
