Strong and gusty winds forecasted for tomorrow are keeping the wildfire hazard and the fire advisory in place for the Lac La Biche Forest Area.

The forecast for tomorrow is for cooler temperatures of 11 degrees, higher humidity at 30% and winds E20 gusting to 35 km/hr.  Any fires that start will spread quickly under these windy conditions.

Various counties and municipalities have fire advisories or fire bans in place.  Visit albertafirebans.ca to see what the conditions are in your area or the area you are planning to visit.  The Lac La Biche Forest Area has a FIRE ADVISORY in place which means safe campfires are allowed.  Other burning is suspended until conditions improve.

We did not have any new wildfires so far today.  There are currently four wildfires in the area and they are all under control.  We've had 37 wildfires in the area this season.

We have seven crews, six helicopters, and some heavy equuipment in place across the area.

Please continue to do your part to prevent wildfire.  There should be no burning, except for a campfire.  Keep campfires small and under control.  Have water nearby and keep an eye on your sparks and embers.  The grass and forest floor is very dry.  You don't want to be the one responsible for starting a wildfire!
