The weather has pushed the wildfire hazard to VERY HIGH.  With the forecast for increasing temperatures and strong and gusty winds for the next several days, you can expect the wildfire hazard to intensify for our area.  There is no precipitation expected.

For these reasons, the FIRE BAN and the QUAD Restriction remain in effect for our portion of the Forest Protection Area.

Congratulations on doing your part to prevent wildfire!  We have had no new wildfires in our area since May 8.  Thanks for respecting the fireban and for not using your quads during this critical time. Your patience is appreciated as we wait for Mother Nature to send us some rain and lighten the winds.

The photo below shows the airtankers leaving Lac La Biche this morning.

We have 154 firefighters on 19 crews, 15 helicopters, the airtankers and several pieces of heavy equipment on hand across the area, ready to action any new wildfires.  As always, our objective is to fight any new wildfires quickly, keeping them small and getting them under control efficiently.
