Wildfire Danger MODERATE for Lac La Biche Forest Area - August 30, 2019

The wildfire danger in the Lac La Biche Forest Area is MODERATE. 

Seasonal temperatures, drying winds and scattered precipitation mean our wildfire danger will be in the MODERATE range for this long weekend.  

Please take the time to ensure your campfires are extinguished before you leave them.

Current Situation 

There are currently no active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Area.  

So far this season we've had 142 wildfires in the area.

The Provincial Situation

  • There are currently (Aug 30) 13 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta.  10 are under control and 3 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
  • Since March 1, 2019, Alberta has recorded 942 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta that have burned a total of 883,288 hectares.

 If you see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE.
