Recent rain and snowfall, along with cool temperatures, are helping keep the wildfire hazard at LOW.

We have had 21 wildfires so far this season.  There are currently two wildfires in the area, one is under control and one has been turned over to the landowner to extinguish.

Fire permits are required for any burning, other than a campfire.  Visit firepermits.alberta.ca or call toll free 310-0000, or your local Agriculture and Forestry office.  Fire permits are free of charge.  A patrolman will visit to inspect your burn site, provide information about safe burns, and issue a permit.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
