The wildfire hazard has dropped to LOW in the south part of our district, and to MODERATE in the north part of the district.

The forecast is calling for rain tomorrow, cooler temperatures, and strong winds gusting to 65 km/hr. Precipitation might be lighter in the north part of the area, but the hazard will drop from the VERY HIGH levels it has been at for the past several days.

Remember that you need a permit for any burning other than a campfire.  The conditions on the back of your permit need to be followed.  No burning with winds stronger than 12 km/hr.

We didn't have any new wildfires today.  We have 17 crews, five helicopters, the air tankers, some heavy equipment and a water truck on hand for tomorrow.  We are also working to clean up two wildfires that started on the weekend.  We have had 44 wildfires so far this season.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
