Lac La Biche Area Update

One Month Into Wildfire Season

Posted on Fri, Apr 01, 2016

We are now one month into Wildfire Season. There are currently no wildfires in the area.

Thanks to everyone who contacted us for fire permits this month.  Our patrolmen are back at work and anxious to help you plan safe burns.  Permits are FREE and available by calling our office at 780-623-5388.  A patrolman will visit your burn site and issue a permit or provide advice if your burn site needs some improvement.

Now is a great time to finish up any burning projects you had planned, before the rest of the snow melts and the grass becomes a hazard.

If you're in the Hylo Quad Rally this weekend, look for our collapsible pails that store easily on your machines.  Use them to soak any smouldering debris that your clear from your quads. During the summer season, muskeg and dry grass collects on quads, dries out, heats up and falls to the ground starting wildfires.  Carry a collapsible pail or fire extinguisher with you and do your part to make sure your trails are there next time you come back.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
