The Quad Ban and Fire Ban continue for the Province of Alberta.

The wildfire hazard for tomorrow is EXTREME, based on strong and gusty winds in the forecast. The temperature for tomorrow for both Lac La Biche and the Fort McMurray area should be cooler, at 15 degrees, with humidity at 30%.  This is cooler and more humid than we've seen for a few days, however the winds are going to be W30 gusting to 50 km/hr and stronger than that, at W30 gusting to 60 kn/hr switching to NW 30 gusting to 50 km/hr for the Fort McMurray area. Tomorrow could be another challenging day for our firefighters.

We had no new fires in the Lac La Biche area today, and one new fire in the Fort McMurray area. The new fire in the Fort McMurray district was east of the Fort McMurray city fire, and burned into the existing wildfire from the day previous.  This fire is about 11,000 hectares.

We currently have 28 crews, 30 helicopters, airtankers, five dozer units, nine water trucks and various other heavy equipment on hand to fight any new wildfires.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
