Cooler temperatures, higher humidity and lighter winds have dropped the wildfire hazard to MODERATE.

There is still a danger for wildfires in areas with cured grass.  Please continue to exercise caution with any burning and if you're operating a quad or OHV in grassy areas.  Until we receive some precipitation, cured grass remains volatile.

We had two new wildfires this afternoon.  Both fires are in the Janvier area, and are being actioned by crews.  The fires from yesterday have been extinguished or are being extinguished by the landowners. So far this season we have had 30 wildfires.

We have ten crews, nine helicopters, the airtankers and some heavy equipment positioned throughout the area.  Our lookout observers continue to monitor the forest for smoke.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.  Follow the conditions on your permits for a safe burn; no burning when winds exceed 15 km/hr.  Never leave a campfire before you have completely extinguished it.
