Although the unstable weather continues, higher humidity levels and the chance of precipitation on Sunday have dropped the hazard level to MODERATE.

We didn't have any new wildfires yesterday.  Crews continue to work on LWF 097 from earlier in the week.

We have 13 crews, nine helicopters, the air tankers and three dozer units on hand to fight any new wildfires across the area.

The photo below shows the Alberta "ducks" at the air tanker base in Lac La Biche yesterday. These skimmer planes were here for the day while the air tankers stationed in Lac La Biche went to help with fires further north.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire this long weekend.  Make sure your campfires are extinguished before you leave them on Monday.  Don't think the rain will put them out!

Your next update will be on Thursday, July 7 unless conditions change in the meantime.
