The wildfire hazard is MODERATE for the long weekend.  The forecast is for increasing temperatures, moderate humidity levels, chance of showers with lightning and winds about 15 km gusting to 30 km for the next few days.

Campfires are allowed this long weekend.  Keep your fires small and under control and NEVER leave a campfire unattended.  Gusty winds could spread sparks and cause a wildfire.  Please ensure you take the time to completely extinguish your campfires before you leave them.  Soak it, stir the ashes, and soak it again.

You need a permit for any burning other than a campfire.

We had one new wildfire today which has been extinguished.  We have 11 crews, 2 helicopters and the airtankers on hand to battle any new wildfires.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
