The wildfire hazard is MODERATE for the Lac La Biche Forest Area.  The FIRE ADVISORY remains in place due to a cured grass wildfire hazard.  Safe campfires are allowed.  Follow the conditions on fire permits for safe burning.  Heavy fuels like brush piles, windrows and other non-essential burning is not allowed at this time.

The forecast for the weekend is for cooler temperatures around 9 degrees with 45% humidity and winds SE20 gusting to 35 km/hr.  There is some trace precipitation in the forecast for the very southern parts of the forest area.

We had two new fires today.  Currently we have nine wildfires in the area.  All fires are under control.  Crews and equipment continue to action the existing fires and are positioned across the area to fight any new wildfires.

Please continue to do your part to prevent wildfire.  Make sure your campfires are out and follow the conditions on your fire permits.  Remember, no burning if winds exceed 12 km/hr.

Your next update will be on Monday, April 25 unless conditions change in the meantime.
