The wildfire hazard for the Lac La Biche area is LOW.  Increased humidity levels and precipitation received over the last several days have decreased the wildfire hazard to LOW.

The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 25 degrees with humidity of 40%, winds W20 and high chance of lightining.

For the first time since early in May, there are no out of control fires in the area!  The hard work of our firefighters paid off again yesterday when LWF 161 saw a status change from out of control to being held.

There are currently 10 fires in the area.  Six fires are under control and four are being held.

We have 8 crews and 6 helicopters as well as the air tankers positioned across the area to fight new wildfires.

Forty firefighters from Idaho arrived in Lac La Biche today.  These crews will replace the firefighters from Nova Scotia currently working on LWF 161.  Thanks for your help Nova Scotia and welcome to the area Idaho.
