The wildfire hazard for tomorrow is LOW.

Cooler temperatures, precipitation, higher humidity and lighter winds have all helped reduce the wildfire hazard to LOW.  This help from Mother Nature, along with the very hard work of our fire fighters, has down graded LWF 076 (west of Janvier) to UNDER CONTROL at noon today.  Crews will continue to work on hot spots in the days to come.

We had no new fires today.

Thanks for your patience this long weekend, and for respecting the FIRE BAN and QUAD RESTRICTION.  Your help in not starting any new wildfires is certainly appreciated.

For now the FIRE BAN and QUAD RESTRICTION remain in place for the Lac La Biche forest area east of the Athabasca River and north of the Town of Athabasca.  As soon as conditions change the information will be available on albertafirebans.ca, and a new update will be posted here.

In the meantime, stay warm and dry and thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
