The wildfire hazard is LOW for the next few days.

Our hazard has been bouncing between HIGH and LOW for the past week, and the same weather pattern continues into this week.  Scattered showers with lightning are crossing the area this afternoon.  Scattered showers are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.  This precipitation along with cooler temperatures, higher humidity levels, and lighter winds, are keeping our wildfire hazard at LOW.

We didn't have any new wildfires today.

We have crews, helicopters and the air tankers on hand to action any new wildfires.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfires.  Now is a great time to get your fire permits if you are planning fireworks for July 1.  Fire permits are required for any burning, other than a campfire.  Permits are free and are available by calling your local Agriculture & Forestry office.

Your next update will be on Thursday unless conditions change in the meantime.
