The wildfire hazard is HIGH for the area.  The FIRE BAN and QUAD RESTRICTION remain in place.

The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 15 degrees, humidity of 25%, and winds NW10.  The northwest winds tomorrow could clear the smoke from the Conklin, Janvier and Lac La Biche areas. There is no precipitation in the forecast, and temperatures will be climbing over the weekend.  You can anticipate the hazard climbing back to VERY HIGH by next week.  For this reason, please continue to be diligent in the forest!  Thanks for not having fires and for not using your quads until conditions change.

We had another fortunate day with no new wildfires in the area.  We've had 74 wildfires so far this season.

We have 18 crews, 16 helicopters, airtankers and various pieces of heavy equipment on hand across the area, ready to fight any new wildfires tomorrow.  If you've noticed that we have fewer resources on the list, it's because we are handing back the east side of the Fort McMurray district to their fire center tonight.  Fort McMurray Forest Area staff are back in place and ready to resume operations.
