The wildfire hazard is HIGH for June 2.

The wildfire hazard has dropped a bit, due to the cooler temperature and higher humidity levels in store for us tomorrow. However, the threat is still HIGH because we are expecting strong and gusty winds plus we have the threat of lightning activity.

Special thanks to Cenovus who respected the EXTREME wildfire hazard yesterday and refrained from using quads in field operations for the peak burning period. Your FireSmart actions and help in preventing wildfires is appreciated!

Be mindful when operating quads in the forest area tomorrow.  Remember you need a permit for any burning, other than a campfire.

We have 14 crews, 9 helicopters, the airtankers, and heavy equipment on hand to action any wildfires tomorrow.

We had one new wildfire today, which has been extinguished.  So far this season we've had 49 wildfires.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
