A fire advisory remains in place for the Lac La BIche area.  The wildfire hazard is HIGH for the area.

Unseasonably warm temperatures, no precipitation and strong and gusting winds mean any fires that start in the uncured grasses will spread rapidly and be difficult to contain.  The forecast for tomorrow is temperature of 16, humidity of 30% and winds SE25G45.  The winds are expected to continue throughout the week.

No permits for heavy burning are being issued.  Avoid any non-essential burning at this time, and adhere to the conditioins on the back of your fire permits. It is not safe to burn when winds exceed 15 km/hr.  This means NO BURNING tomorrow or for the rest of the week.

We had seven new wildfires today.  All fires have been extinguished.

Please do your part to prevent wildfire.  Remember that dry grass is very flammable under current weather conditions.
