Warm, dry and windy conditions mean the wildfire danger remains HIGH for the Lac La Biche forest area.

The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 13, humidity of 30%, chance of isolated showers ending by noon, and winds NW20.  After the cold front crosses the area, we expect temperatures to pick up for the weekend, bringing good drying conditions, and keeping the wildfire danger at HIGH.

With the weather looking good for the weekend, maybe you're thinking of getting started on spring yard work.  We have a limited number of oversize, heavy duty paper, FireSmart bags to help you get all those leaves and twigs and dead plants off your grass and out of your flower beds.  Drop by the Fire Center in Lac La Biche on Friday, and I'm happy to supply you with some bags.

We have not have any new wildfires so far today.  So far this season we've had 50 wildfires.  Two small fires remain active with crews working to extinguish them.  All others have been extinguished.

Tomorrow we have nine crews, the airtankers, three helicopters, and seven water trucks on hand to action any new fires.

Spring winds continue to dry the grass in meadows, ditches, and along roads and pipelines.  Be mindful if you're operating quads or OHVs in these areas.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire.
