Wildfire season officially ends on October 31, but safe burning practices are always in season. After October 31, fire permits are no longer required for burning. However, you are still responsible for any burning after wildfire season ends and for extinguishing any winter burns. Visit www.wildfire.alberta.ca for information on conducting safe winter burns.
We had 103 wildfires this season in the Lac La Biche forest area. There were 697 wildfires across the Province.
Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfire. Have a good winter.
