The FIRE ADVISORY continues to be in effect for the Lac La Biche area.  No permits are being issued for any heavy burning.  Please avoid any unnecessary burning until winds subside.

A band of precipitation crossed the Lac La Biche area last night and today, giving areas to the south some precipitation, but leaving areas to the north still very dry.  The forecast for tomorrow is for a temperature of 7, humidity of 35%, light precipitation and winds NE30G45. Areas that receive the precipitation will have a more moderate wildfire hazard.  Drier areas continue to have a HIGH wildfire hazard.  Strong winds are expected to continue across the whole area.

Never burn when winds exceed 15 km/hr.  Tomorrow's forecast is for strong winds, which means NO BURNING please.  Check the back of your fire permits for safe burning conditions.

We had five new fires today.  All fires are in the Janvier area and are either under control or extinguished.  So far this fire season we have had 40 wildfires.

We have 10 crews, three helicopters and several water trucks positioned across the area to suppress any fires that ignite.  Please do your part to help prevent wildfire.  Get a permit and follow the conditions.  Avoid any unnecessary burning.
