As expected, the wildfire hazard for the area remains EXTREME.  The FIRE BAN and the QUAD RESTRICTION are still in place.

A Fire Weather Advisory has been issued for the area for tomorrow.  The forecast is for a high of 22 degrees with humidity of 20%, no precipitation, and winds W20 gusting to 35 km/hr. The cold front crossing the Province should cross our area tonight.  The strong and gusty winds mean any fires that start will be difficult to catch.  The lack of precipitation means the grass and the forest are extremely volatile.

Your help in preventing wildfire is critical.  The winds and dry weather are making it difficult to fight the existing wildfires in the province.  Now, more than ever, it's important that we don't have any new wildfires.  If we do have new wildfires, we're trying to fight them as quickly as possible, with the intent to keep them small and under control using the resources we have on hand.

There were no new fires in our area today, but there were two fires outside of the Forest Protection Area that we are assisting with.

We have 24 crews, 17 helicopters, airtankers, five dozer units, several water trucks and other equipment in the area, ready to action any new wildfires.  We've had 75 wildfires so far this season.

Thanks for respecting the FIRE BAN and the QUAD RESTRICTION.  If you can be patient for a bit longer, maybe Mother Nature will send a soaking rain our way.
