gfx-hsb-wildfiredangerupdate-extremeThe fire that started yesterday inside the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range has grown to 4,000 hectares.  It remains classified as out of control at this time.  The fire is moving northwest as well as south.  We have significant resources actioning this fire, from the ground and from the air.

CNRL evacuated their Primrose facilities yesterday.  Last night ESRD advised Cenovus to evacuate their Foster Creek camp and facilities as a precautionary measure.  There is only one road out of Foster Creek and it was predicted that the road could be compromised by smoke or fire today, preventing Cenovus staff from leaving.  Ken Baker Road was closed today shortly after noon.  We are keeping other industry in the area informed.

We continue to attack this fire from the air and from the ground.  Weather conditions are contributing to extreme fire behavior.

Your next update will be issued at 8pm.
