The wildfire danger in the Lac La Biche Forest Area is MODERATE.
LAC LA BICHE WILDFIRE UPDATE
There are four active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Forest Area. All of these wildfires are under control.
LWF-194 is under control at 0.3 hectares (ha) in size.
LWF-184 is under control at 500 (ha) in size.
LWF-152 is under control at 86.4 ha in size.
LWF-154 is under control at 125 ha in size.
Since March 1st there have been 193 wildfires in the Lac La Biche Forest Area, burning a total of 1,442 ha of forest.

PROVINCIAL WILDFIRE UPDATE
Since March 1, 2021 there have been 1,133 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta, burning a total of 52,866 ha.
OHV SAFETY
If you are operating an off-highway vehicle, remember to stop often and check your hotspots. An off-highway vehicle exhaust can reach temperatures of over 200 Celsius, causing debris caught near the exhaust to become superheated. This debris can potentially start a wildfire when it falls to the ground.

CAMPFIRE SAFETY
We urge everyone to use caution when working and recreating outdoors. Never leave your campfire unattended. Before leaving, be sure to soak your campfire, stir it and soak it again.
