The forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 24 C, humidity of 20%, and winds SSW15 km/hr gusting to 40 km/hr.  This combination of warm temperature, humidity that is lower than the temperature, and the strong and gusty winds has driven the wildfire danger to VERY HIGH for Saturday.

No burning on Saturday.  Even if you have a permit, it is not safe to burn when winds are stronger than 15 km/hr.

We had five new wildfires today.  All fires were in the Janvier area.  So far this season we've had 34 wildfires.

We have nine crews, 4 helicopters, 5 water trucks and three air tankers on hand tomorrow to fight any new wildfires.

Be very careful tomorrow if you're quadding on Saturday.  Stop frequently and clear grass and buildup from machine hot spots. Take the same path out that you took to get in - and check your path for smouldering grass that can lead to a wildfire.

If you see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE.

Thanks for your help in preventing wildfire.
