As of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, a fire advisory is now in effect. We have had a couple of days of very high fire weather. With so many lightning-caused fires occurring in such a short period of time in the North West Boreal region of Canada, it is important to limit human-caused wildfires. Please continue to use caution when in the forested areas, and always extinguish your fire. To report wildfires call, 310-FIRE(3473).
WILDFIRE SITUATION REPORT | JUNE 23, 2018, AT 8:30PM
The High Level Forest Area currently has 21 wildfires in the area. Of these fires, 10 are being held, 8 are under control and 3 have been turned over to the responsible parties. No communities or structures are at risk at this time.
Since the March 1 start of wildfire season, there have been 155 wildfires in the High Level Forest Area, burning a total of 6,493.43 hectares.
In the Forest Protection Area of Alberta, there are 81 wildfires burning. 10 are out of control, 25 are being held, 41 are under control and 5 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
