Wildfire Situation Report | July 18 - 11:30am
The High Level Forest Area currently has 8 wildfires. Of these fires, 2 are being held and 6 are under control. No communities or structures are at risk at this time.
Since the start of wildfire season (March 1st), there have been 171 wildfires in the High Level Forest Area, burning a total of 13,746.20 hectares.

Smoke Warning - Zama
There are wildfires burning in the northwest corner of the province that are putting up smoke plumes and can be seen from Zama. The closest wildfire is approximately 60 km northwest of Zama, however there are no threats to communities or structures at this time.

Fire Permits
As of March 1, 2018 any burning other than a small cooking or warming fire within the Forest Protection Area requires a fire permit. If you're within the High Level Forest Area and wish to obtain your free fire permit, please call 780-926-5407. Please have your home location, burn location, daytime phone number and what you plan to burn available.
