Posted on Mon, Jan 24, 2022

End of wildfire season

The 2021 wildfire season in Alberta ended on October 31. Permits are no longer required to burn within the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. Residents living outside the Forest Protection Area (FPA) can contact their municipality or local authority for more information about fire permit requirements.

Before burning debris or brush this winter, make sure you have the proper tools on hand and only burn what you can control. Remember to revisit your burn site several times to make sure it’s properly extinguished. Follow our guidelines here:bit.ly/3vuRJZ7
