The wildfire danger rating is LOW but please continue to use caution when using off-highway vehicles and warming fires. Clear dead grass from your OHV and put out your campfire by soaking and stirring it. A fire that is not properly extinguished can smoulder until spring and surface as a wildfire when conditions are right. Safe burning practices are always in season.

2018 Fort McMurray Forest area statistics

Since March 1, 2018 there were 107 wildfires that burned approximately 3,295 hectares. Twenty-five of these fires were human caused.
