Preventing wildfires is a shared responsibility
Firefighters and support staff are training and readying equipment and aircraft to be fully operational for the start of fire season on March 1. More than 100 firefighters are working across the province and more are being added every week to ensure that proper resources are in place and the province is fully prepared for wildfire when it happens. National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day | May 5, 2018.
In collaboration with The Co-operators, the National Fire Protection Association, and the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, FireSmart Canada is presenting the fourth annual National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on May 5.
Apply for a $500 award to help your comunity work towards becoming FireSmart. Organize neighbours, friends or a community group and participate in a project to reduce the risk of wildfire.
Applications are accepted until March 9, 2018.
